News flash: we’re pretty much all addicted to something, whether we realize it or not! Those little hits of dopamine we get – whether it’s from a bite of chocolate, or seeing “likes” on our social media posts, or that nightly glass of wine – all add up to what feels like pleasure. What’s really unclear to us is that we all then feel an equal or greater amount of pain or discomfort. And when we keep going back to the same things for those dopamine hits, we find they don’t “work” as well.
